Dabob Bay Residence, mountains house architecture by Bjarko Serra
S p o n s o r e d L i n k s
This family retreat is located above Dabob Bay, near Washington’s Hood Canal. The building is situated at the end of a ridge, surrounded by ravines on three sides. Wood materials appear to dominate the overall structure of this house design. The architectural designs evolved as a modern interpretation while still recalling gable roof forms along with wood and stone finishes. The post and beam structure is allowing for the glazed infill to give transparency in all directions. There are a three main elements of the house, the entry, the great room interior, and a sleeping tower. The bedroom tower offers the most dramatic experience as it reaches high above the descending ravines, it provides for a 360-degree view of the surrounding environment.
